  • …to color our awareness this upcoming week.

Foundations are shaken this week and we leave the place of comfort to find a taut blade peeking through the discomfort. This is a sign of things turning for the worse, but alas, as the edifice crumbles, the promise of release for the blade is immanent, as what is strung, and firm always has the potential of being taken down. In life their are few certainties. As for seeing things for what they are, look for the road that opens, the X that marks the spot in the horizon. Because where things crumble, therein resides the capacity to build something else in its place, hopefully something better. With the week looking like a battlefield, keep an eye for the opening roads along the way and make sure to take the ones that hold promise and change. Keep working at it.

I began these weekly auguries as a way to bring more consistency into my blog, plus, I love reading the cards and exploring different ways of doing so. I am not one to read the cards for myself everyday, but I thought this would be a good way to see how the readings mirror the week in the long run. So far it has been fun and enlightening for myself, I hope it has been so as well for those that have read them. This week I decided to trim it down a bit with the card layout. This is because I am in the process of moving, packing my books and selling furniture, it is a lot of work. For now, I will be doing these auguries in shorter form, but know that I might also suspend these installments, at some point, until after the move.

I will, as always, continue writing and sharing my thoughts about all things tarot, cartomancy, magic, books, and perhaps even dive into more esoteric subjects.

    Wishing you a wonderful week.

  • August 28- Steptember 3

As the month of August winds down and the lunar cycle is in its beginning stages, the week starts with a welcoming embrace but soon digresses into a polarized field of antagonism and pressure. Finally ending in an entangled note. The bottom card reminds us to keep our balances clear and equal, something Monday reiterates.

    Monday

This day is about coming together and sharing, a balanced exchange. Keep the balances even between partnerships and the waters clear.

    Tuesday

Tuesday, quite a volatile day, is about a disruption and division between two, spiraling into chaos. What began in harmony, transforms into separation amid turbulence. With this polarization in mind, stay level-headed and present.

    Wednesday

After the chaos one reorganizes and takes account. This day is about stabilizing and taking stock of what has passed, Again, a reminder to stay level-headed, and to avoid indulging overly much on what is lost.

    Thursday

On this expansive day, the air clears somewhat and there is an elevation of spirits, as the sound of clarity and agency ring palpable. Whatever antagonism it was the pulled you down these past two days will start to become more manageable.

    Friday

Well, very much in line with this day of Venus, and also following nicely with last week’s augury, the devil rears his head again this week. This is to remind us that it is a day for letting go of whatever has transpired, to let loose, and perhaps even to indulge in being naked under the stars.

    Saturday

    Morgan-Greer Tarot in a tin

After the lavishness of Friday comes the strife and loss of Saturday. Perhaps too much indulgence is not recommended since it can lead to discord among friends and lovers, as alienation and ego set in.

    Sun

    Morgan-Greer Tarot in a tin

Following the stream of cards with precision, alienation has set in and tied you to your own agony. Wake up, remove your blindfold, and keep going. This week has ended, but as always the promise of another is just around the corner.

    Wishing everyone a good week.

  • and with wine, for the week of August 21-27. This week starts off ‘swell‘ but deflates towards the end. The focus is mainly on work and money, again, initially. As the weekend looms closer the attention shifts towards more social and indulgent affairs. With the eclipse close at hand, and the violent events that continue to shake the US still palpable, I opt for following the path of work, keep tilling that soil, “chopping wood, and carrying water.” Also, traditionally, eclipses don’t bode well, and I won’t be devoting time talking about it. I hope everyone’s week brings promise and hope. And if you do happen to catch the eclipse as it makes its way across the US, enjoy it!

    Monday

Don’t avoid crossing those agitated waters, very little is achieved through avoidance. Monday asks for courage and aptitude.

    Tuesday

This day finds us leaning and trusting on others for motivation with work-related matters. Teamwork indeed has its benefits.

    Wednesday

In true mercurial fashion, today is about communication and interactions, most likely following up from Tuesday’s endeavors. Be open and clear with your ideas and thoughts, this fosters balance for you, and hopefully harmony among your peers.

    Friday

It looks to me like there are some ties you are going to have to learn to break, manage, or rise above. Today is about the body, the passions and desires.

    Saturday

This one follows Friday appropriately. Saturday opens with the epithet “hot and bothered,” naked even. There is discomfort and division here. Take some time to relax and drink liquids.

    Sunday

A full turn around greats us here, as the weeks closes on a slightly sour note, your hand reaches out for the baton to begin the cycle anew. Take heart that whatever troubles come, one does what one can, and then continues to press onward. Keep going.

  • Now that things are picking up speed, July opens with the vector of the 6 of coins. The 6s are all about flow, the direction and movement of the current, where it’s headed and how it’s moving. With coins being in the realm of wealth, communication, and exchange, it is only natural to see the 6 coins pointing towards the flow of whichever material matter occupies our inquiry. Coins have an element of the mercurial.

Now that we are here, what does this opening month have to say about movement?

Jean Noblet Tarot de Marseille 2014

This month finds the lady taking a pause from the gains of her work to go outside and enjoy some time for herself, to relax the muscles, and let go of the strain of the past months. Now that the way has been paved, and the X has been marked for ingress and gain (coins will assuredly be coming in, in due course), the harvest is near, it is time to let loose and bask under the stars. Essentially, there is a time for everything under the sun, as Solomon wisely stated, now that we are in the halfway point of the year, remember to take time to enjoy yourself for a change.

    Happy 4th of July.
